In today’s teaching-learning environment, the learners as autonomous human beings with likes, dislikes, fears and
expectations have taken centre stage with teaching approaches, methods and materials being modified to suit them.
‘Humanism’ gives primacy to the individual’s thoughts, feelings and emotions.
Humanism encompasses various areas of teaching-learning and gives scope for serious discussions. This international seminar
provides a forum for exploring humanism from various perspectives in the context of English Language Teaching.
To explore the humanistic elements in English language and literature teaching. To redefine the roles of teachers, learners
and materials in Humanistic Language and Literature Teaching.
