concepts of analysis, an analysis process, simple examples, source of model equations.

Conservation equations of mass, energy and momentum, constitutive equations, control
volume, dimensional analysis, stability analysis, sensitivity analysis. |
Units: III |
Formulation of Process Models : Development of model equations for simple isothermal
non-reacting and reacting liquid systems for both steady state and unsteady state conditions.

Units: IV |
Isothermal two phase systems and rate of mass transfer, equilibrium staged processes, nonisothermal
systems. Modeling of distillation column, absorber, heat exchanger, heat transfer
in a jacketed verssel.

Chemical Process Simulation : Introduction to simulation methodologies, process flowsheet
simulators.
