Image enhancement in Frequency domain – Introduction to Fourier
transform: 1- D, 2 –D DFT and its inverse transform, smoothing and sharpening
filters. |
UNIT IV |
Image restoration: Model of degradation and restoration process – noise
models – restoration in the presence of noise- periodic noise reduction.. Image
segmentation: Thresholding and region based segmentation. |
UNIT V |
Image compression: Fundamentals – models – information theory –
error free compression –Lossy compression: predictive and transform coding.
