Techie Develops Biometric Cards

Date:08-06-2009

  • A computer engineering student in Tiruchy has developed a fool-proof mechanism for ensuring security of all kinds of online transactions, including ATM cards. Phishers may have to look for other avenues once business establishments switch over to the technology developed by Preethi Sivaramakrishnan, a computer science student of Mookambigai College of Engineering.
  • The multi-biometric cards can never be hacked or misused. While the fingerprints are 94 per cent effective, the facial scan offers 68 per cent security.
