Manipal varsity’s ‘Vidyadeep’ scholarship

• The directorate of distance education of Sikkim Manipal University has announced launch of Vidyadeep, a nationwide scholarship program for 1,500 meritorious and deserving students of SMU-DE programs across India. Out of these 1,500 scholarships, 500 scholarships will be offered to students from the North East alone. This scholarship is a ‘first of its kind pioneering initiative’ in the field of distance education in the country.

• The scheme was launched at Mysore in presence of representatives from more than 400 learning centres of SMU-DDE in India, brand ambassador for Manipal Education. he scholarship programme is in the form of upto 100% tuition fee waiver for students currently in the 1st to 5th semester for the streams of IT, Management, Journalism & Mass Communication, Fashion, Hospitality & Tourism, Allied Health, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.

• Candidates must be from low family income, with 45% and above marks in qualifying exam.
