Several top-notch colleges such as College of Engineering, guindy, Madras Institute of Technology, Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, PSG College of Engineering, Thiagarajar College of engineering Madurai and Coimbatore Institute of Technology have filled up all their seats in open category.
An analysis of seats filled up in the fifth day of counseling on Tuesday revealed that these were some of the colleges which students had most preferred.
Meanwhile of the 12,364 invited students, 2,092 did not turn up for counseling till Tuesday and 39 candidates skipped the counseling by not selecting any course.The students who skipped counseling might have not got their preferred course or college.
Manufacturing engineering seems to be the most preferred course with just three seats remaining vacant. The total number of seats available in this course is 38.
