20,000 BE Seats may go vacant in TN

  • Increase in number of colleges and seats fails to enthuse engineering aspirants.

  • About 20,000 government quota seats in engineering colleges across the state are expected to remain vacant when the first phase of the single window counseling comes to an end on July 29. There were 1, 05,676 available in over 290 engineering colleges across the state.

  • It is not that less number of students had joined engineering colleges this year but the number of colleges and seats available in them had increased considerably.

  • The number of students abstaining from counseling this year has increased to 12,105.
