Answer any FIVE Questions
1. (a) Construct an ellipse when a pair of conjugate diameters AB and CD are equal to 110mm and 50mm respectively. The angle between the conjugate diameters is 700
(b) Construct a parabola with in a parallelogram of sides 110mm × 50mm. One
of the included angle between the sides is 700.
2.A circle of 115 mm diameter rolls on another circle of 75mm diameter with internal
contact. Draw the locus of a point on the circumference of rolling circle for its one
complete revolution.
3.(a) A point A is 2.5 cm above the H.P. and 3 cm infront of the V.P. Draw its
Projections.
(b) A point A is 2 cm below the H.P. and 4 cm behind the V.P. Draw its Projec-
tions.
(c) Two points A and B are in the H.P. The point A is 30mm in front of the V.P.,
while B is behind the V.P. The distance between their projectors is 75mm
and the line joining their top views makes an angle of 450 with xy. Find the
distance of the point B form the V.P.
4. A line AB 120mm long is inclined at 450 to the H.P. and 300 to the V.P. Its mid
point C is in V.P. and 20mm above H.P. The end A is in the third quadrant, and
B is in the first quadrant Draw the projections of the line.
5. A circular plate of negligible thickness and 50mm diameter appears as an ellipse in
the front view, having its major axis 50mm long and minor axis 30mm long. Draw
its top view when the major axis of the ellipse is horizontal.
6. A hexagonal pyramid, base 25mm side and axis 55mm long, has one of its slant
edges on the ground. A plane containing that edge and the axis is perpendicular
to the H.P. and inclined at 450 to the V.P. Draw its projections, when the apex is
nearer the V.P. than the base.
7.((a) Draw the isometric view of a square prism, with side of base 40mm and length
of axis 70mm, when its axis is i. vertical and ii. horizontal.
(b) Figure 7b shows the front view of a sphere, resting centrally on the top of a
square block. Draw the isometric projection of the arrangement all dimensions
are in mm.
8. Draw the following views of the block shown in figure 8. All dimensions are in mm.
- Front View.
- Top view
- Both side views.
